Courtney Stapleton

B.Sc., M.Sc.A, PHT, MOPPQ

Courtney Stapleton is a physiotherapist graduated from the Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences at McGill University. She speaks French and English.

Courtney is passionate about treating sports-related and orthopedic injuries with the latest evidenced-based practices. This passion for understanding human anatomy & biomechanics began at a young age as a competitive figure skater, where she competed in competitions across Canada & the USA. When working with physiotherapists after sports-related injuries, Courtney discovered that “movement is medicine” and decided to further this understanding by completing a bachelor’s degree in Anatomy & Cell Biology from McGill University. During this time, she found an interest in working directly with patients as an orthopedic clinical research assistant.

After much reflexion, Courtney entered into her Master of Science in Physical Therapy at McGill University, where she took a keen interest in the advanced manual therapy and sports physiotherapy courses. After completing her master’s, she stays up to date by pursuing various continuing education courses, including those from the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA). With her inquisitive and empathetic nature, she seeks to identify the key factors contributing to the patient’s condition.

While science forms the foundation of her practice, Courtney is also a visual artist. She specializes in watercolour painting, oil painting and illustration. Her passion for the creative arts injects a dose of innovation and personalization into her physical therapy approach. She recognizes that every patient has distinct needs and aims to craft treatment plans that are as unique as they are effective.

Outside of the clinic, you can find Courtney on the mountains, enjoying skiing and hiking, otherwise participating in yoga classes, and lifting weights. Nowadays, she uses these experiences when working with athletes of all levels to guide their recovery and maximize their potential!
